“I am a man, little do I last “- meaning these
line?

     Upper said line clearly
emphasizes the brevity of human life. Man is Mortal. He is subject to
death.  He gets very little chance to make a mark in this world.
After his death no one remembers his name sinks into the ocean of
Oblivion. It is an eternal truth. Nobody can deny this.

But the poet Paz finds a solution
of this problem by delivering a message to his readers. He says that though a
man cannot live long, he has to try harder to gain achievement within the short
period as a man is remembered through his achievement. It will give everlasting
honor. Thus the mortal man will gain Immortal identity.
