Why did Kalam’s father help people though he knew that it was not a correct approach?
Kalam’s father was described as an ideal
religious person in “Strong Roots”. He used to go to the namaj and would
start his day by reading it. Very often he would engage himself in spiritual
discussion with his close friend PL Shastri. He would help the people who would
come to him for help by giving spiritual solution or dipping his finger in
water for the recovery of ill people. But while teaching his sons, he referred
all these processes as wrong. Though he knew that all these were wrong
processes. He would help the help-seeking people as they believed him to be a pious
man who could play the role of a go-between. He was like and another God on the
earth who could save them from their adversity and trouble and demonic forces.
He did not want their adversity and trouble and demonic forces. He did not want
to hurt them. So, he acted then in contrary of his character.
“When
you pray we trancend you…creed”-explain.
Kalam’s
father was a wise religious person. While teaching Kalam about the relevance of
the prayer, he gave him few Immortal advice. The above line is one of them.
Through this line he taught Kalam the usefulness of making prayer. According to
Kalam’s father the universe is enormous and all human beings are very little
part of it. So, we need not be afraid of any sufferings as sufferings,
adversity all are nothing but a process of life. So, not being afraid if we
pray, we can forget our physical existence on this earth and then we come in
close contact with the universe, the timeless eternity and it can lift us from
our misery, suffering and adversity.
