“The Poetry of Earth” is written in
Sonet from. Keats has chosen the sonnet form for his poem. Sonnet is divided
into two- Octave and Sestet. Keats has rightly used them to show a contrast
between summer and winter. In octave Keats presents grasshopper, symbol of
Summer. It feels delight singing and drinking the golden rays of sun in summer.
In the Sestet the poet introduces cricket which continuous the music in Winter.
To present two different seasons hot summer and cold winter Sestet and Octave these two different

How does Keats establish continually through the poem?
John
Keats believes that the “Poetry of Earth” will never end. It will
live through the music of earth. In the summer, the grasshopper sings. In
Winter Cricket continues it with its shrill.
Birds
faint in hot summer days. They take rest in the cool shadow of trees. But music
of summer cannot be stopped. The grasshopper takes lead. The song runs from
hedge to hedge. Being tired the grasshopper takes rest beneath some pleasant
weed. The Cricket then carries music in Winter. The song of the cricket
introduces warmth in winter. Thus music of earth is never ending for different
musicians of nature-birds, grasshopper and Cricket. Thus Keats establishes the
music of nature that can never be ceased.
